I am E IXOO 7, from the planet OUMMO. I take the liberty of writing to you again. This will be my last letter.
I must correct a sentence in my last flow of information addressed to you. My sister in Brussels has made me understand an error I made in using inappropriately the words “we do admit, however, that we react with a certain aversion when we refer to your race on OUMMO”. I beg your pardon for this unfortunate sentence, which might lead one to believe that we do not appreciate the individuals of OYAGAA and that we feel some kind of psychological repulsion towards them. I beg you to believe that this is not so. The sentence referred to your social network taken as a whole and not to your nature as OEMMII. Nor did it include your artistic culture, in particular music and architecture, (….) A whole building is devoted to the culture of your planet in our colony of OUDIOWEE, where I live. I confess to you that I walk with a feeling of wonder mixed with amazement through the museums of your capital, such as the Louvre, the Natural History Museum or the museums devoted to the sculptors Antoine Bourdelle and Auguste Rodin, which have been the object of my latest visits.
**************
Three of our ships arrived on Earth on 9 and 10 May 2003 at three different points of your planet. The contacts with the ground took place near the following localities
Nine of our brothers have thus come to join the small expeditionary group currently on this planet. Their main mission will be the study of geological phenomena and the forecasting of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. This was also my main mission on OYAGAA, and I was chosen by the scientific council of OUMMO for my work in INNOYAGOOU (stratigraphic geology) and my theoretical contributions aimed at improving the predictive model of the eruptions of our volcano OUDIO OEY, which regularly ejects columns of incandescent gas to heights sometimes exceeding 2000 metres.
We constantly monitor the craters of Etna and Panarea in Italy, Colima and Popocatépetl in Mexico, Bezymianny and Chikurachki in Kamchatka, Guagua Pichincha and Tungurahua in Ecuador, Kilauea in Hawaii, Nyamuragira in the Congo, Pago in New Guinea and the Piton de la Fournaise on Réunion Island. We try to regulate the eruptive phases of these volcanoes and to place mechanisms to contain crustal deformations at the level of the geological faults. Since 1972 a system of tectonic compensation has been progressively and successfully installed along the Pacific San Andreas fault to reduce the effects of seismic activity in that region. An imminent explosion of Etna was also prevented by us in 1967 by creating an artificial cavity in the rock that allowed the excess pressure to be released. This cavity, on collapsing, gave rise to a new vent of the volcano. Your brothers Tazieff and Tonani had been warned of this phenomenon by letter in April 1967. I myself explored Etna, Panarea and Stromboli in November and December 2002 to place underground measuring instruments. We monitor more intensely Popocatépetl, whose disquieting activity threatens the populations of the large conurbations of Puebla and Mexico City. We are not the only ones doing so.
(….) I will leave very soon for OUMMO. A ship will leave between 10 and 12 June from Belgium or the Netherlands. Believe me, I will keep an imperishable memory of the 11 XEE spent on your planet. Earthlings undoubtedly have a nature that we judge to be of exceptional diversity. If you knew how to tame this nature without perverting it, OYAGAA would objectively be one of the most beautiful cold stars known to us. May you, (….) contribute to instilling this ideal in the collective consciousness of your fellow beings.
I am happy to have been able to communicate with you. If I have made blunders through lack of rigour or ignorance of your language, I ask you kindly to forgive me. I also ask you to accept the expression of my most sincere respect.
For OUMMOAELEWE

ANNEX: INFORMATION ON OUR ANATOMY
The average heights of the women and men of OUMMO are 195,0 and 208,2 cm respectively. The standard deviation around these mean values is 4,5 cm for women and 4,8 cm for men. The expeditionaries sent on service to OYAGAA are selected, in principle, from among men shorter than one ENMOO (about 187,4 cm) and women shorter than 179,4 cm. However, given the small number of OEMMII who have both a functional phonic organ and an appropriate height, it is difficult to meet these criteria. Thus AYIOA I, son of ADAA 67, to whom I report, is over two metres tall, other reasons having prevailed for his participation in this expedition. He can hardly blend in with the inhabitants of the countries of southern Europe, but this poses fewer problems in the northern regions, where his build is not exceptional.
Our build slightly exceeds yours, with an average body mass index varying between 25 and 30. This is due to the existence of a large subcutaneous fatty layer. Our dermis is also traversed by richly innervated channels capable of becoming turgid, depending on temperature conditions, by filling with an oily substance called IGGIYAEMOY. This mechanism allows us to protect ourselves from the extreme temperatures that can prevail at certain periods on OUMMO. It acts reflexively, like shivering or goose bumps in you, compressing the blood vessels to limit subcutaneous flow and so prevent the dissipation of body heat. When the temperature is higher, this oily substance flows back into subepidermal pouches in the abdomen and hips. Over these pouches our epidermis shows a revealing yellowish-orange colour peculiar to our race of OUMMO. We sweat as you do, though to a lesser extent, salt water mixed with impurities, but our pores also constantly exude tiny droplets of IGGIYAEMOY. This mechanism has a threefold function. It acts as a lubricant for the epidermis, as a thermoregulator and as an emitter of pheromones. This oil gives off a subtle odour, specific to each individual. We may or may not find an individual's personal odour pleasant, the sensation being different for each person. Depending on the case, beyond a certain concentration it can cause irritability or sexual arousal. The emission of IGGIYAEMOY is more intense during the ovulation period of our YIEE, after intense physical effort, under the effect of pain or fear, or when the outside temperature exceeds 16°C.
A daily steam bath is necessary to disperse the excess IGGIYAEMOY we exude each day in the thermal comfort of our homes. This is necessary to avoid provoking aggressive or sensual reactions in the community through too strong an epidermal concentration of pheromones. We can go without this bath for a maximum of 1200 OUW (about 60 Earth hours), because a minimum concentration of pheromones is necessary to reach proper arousal when we wish to have sexual relations between spouses. We maintain the reflex protective mechanism, which causes the IGGIYAEMOY to flow into our dermal channels and is necessary for our survival in conditions of intense cold, by opening the transparent roof of our bedroom to the outside every other night.
Thus we can withstand, without protective clothing and without muscular activity, temperatures that may fall as low as 2°C, provided we are protected from wind and rain. The indoor temperature of our homes is generally regulated between 8°C and 14°C. We can withstand heat up to about 28°C, but we can only effectively evacuate excess internal temperature for limited periods of time, and only if we leave a large part of our epidermis exposed to the open air, which is impossible for us on your planet. Our skin then takes on a slightly tanned appearance, as if we were covered with sun oil. This excess exudation inevitably results in an excessive emission of pheromones that excites your animals, especially dogs and flying insects. We reduce our activity on OYAGAA during the summer months, during which we favour contact operations or scientific analysis inside a suitably air-conditioned room.
You are no doubt wondering why I freely reveal to you information about our anatomy that could allow us to be easily identified. Know that I have orders from my supervisor and from the governing board of OUMMO to do so. In the first place, this information is already available to the secret services of your Governments, which are holding two of our compatriots who died on this planet and refuse to return their bodies to us despite our official pleas. In the second place, this information would only harm us if the revealing parts of our anatomy were exposed, which would only happen through a voluntary action on our part. We have the means to camouflage these anatomical features using suitable make-up. We reserve the right to identify ourselves to your brothers by revealing these anatomical details if necessary to prove our origin. We have other revealing epidermal marks, but we would only reveal them under duress.
I urge you, as in the case of the other letters, to keep this information confidential or within a restricted group of your brothers limited to 4 trusted persons -besides yourself- who must undertake not to reveal it outside this group. It is extremely important that it should not be made public.
